Grumpy Old Gamer is a team of four: Al (that’s me), Andrew, Ethan, and Wayne. Between us, we’ve got decades of gaming experience, bad attitudes, and strong opinions. Some of us are genuinely old. All of us are definitely grumpy.
We’re not doing full bios (yet) or glowing intros. That’s not our style. Instead, we sent each host a bunch of questions to see what they’d come back with. Next on the list: Wayne.
1. What’s one game people won’t shut up about that you think is absolute rubbish?
Fortnite, I’m tired of the constant skins and videos of it.
2. What’s something modern games do that makes you roll your eyes every single time?
Wokeisms I don’t give to shits about anyone’s sexual orientation or their “Pronouns.” Why are you making it blatant in games now?
3. What was the last game that genuinely surprised you—for better or worse?
Stardew Valley, was not expecting to like it as much as I did.
4. If a game loses you in the first hour, what’s usually the reason?
Give you a god character for the tutorial and then a “strange happenings” now you’re weaker than almost everything.
5. What’s a game you’ve played to death but wouldn’t recommend to anyone else?
Apex Legends, for a FPS it has a very steep learning curve and to get good with your abilities is very hard.
6. You’ve got one evening free and zero responsibilities. What do you play?
Well since the ADHD will probably take over. Like almost every game in my library for about 20min each.
7. What’s your biggest gaming regret? Money wasted, time lost, or a save file gone forever?
My biggest gaming regret is that I actually listened to my parents and “Got a real job” otherwise I could have been one of the first major streamers on YouTube when it started getting big.
8. What do you miss most about the way games used to be made or sold?
I miss that games would come as a finished game. No DLC, No MicroTransactions, No pay to win. Just You vs The Game. Find the hidden shit yourself not through a huge community or YouTube.
9. Just how grumpy are you on a scale of one to ten?
When it comes to my life I’d say maybe 4-5. When it comes to gaming like
fuckin’ 30!
