There’s a moment before launch where you stop planning and start hoping. That’s where we are.
The website’s live. The blog is full. The podcast has a name. The first episode is recorded, edited, uploaded, and set to publish. The second one’s nearly there. The third one is… being argued with by a man in a dressing gown who’s sick of editing his own voice.
Let’s call this what it is: the final pre-launch checklist. The stuff we’ve done, the stuff we forgot, and the stuff we’re pretending is fine.
✅ Done (somehow)
- Website is live and hasn’t exploded.
- I wrote actual blog posts. A lot of them. Some are even good.
- Podcast logo looks better than it has any right to.
- Episode 1 is edited, uploaded, and scheduled. That alone is a miracle.
- Episode art and titles match. Consistency, baby.
- RSS feed works. Took a few tries, but it works.
- Spotify, Amazon, and Apple all accepted the show.
- I’ve got enough posts queued that the blog won’t go dark by Thursday.
🔶 In progress (meaning I’ll do it last minute)
- Socials are technically active. Let’s not talk about engagement.
- Episode 2 is nearly done. It’d be finished if I stopped changing things.
- Guest outreach has started. One reply so far. I’ll take it.
- YouTube Shorts are on the list. Somewhere.
- A contact page is coming. Probably.
❌ Not happening (yet)
- Transcripts for every episode. Ask again in a month.
- Full planning board. The whiteboard is still blank. Metaphorically and literally.
- Coordinated launch across all platforms. I’m going live and hoping for the best.
- Launch party. Sure. I’ll light a candle.
- Backup mic? What’s that? I’ve got one mic and fingers crossed.
What we do have is a podcast. It’s recorded. It’s real. It’s happening. No fake trailers. No NFT scams. Just us, some mics, and too many opinions on old games.
We’ll probably forget something else before the week’s out. But Episode 1 is scheduled. The feed works. The logo looks good.
That’s a win.
